My Allstate Horror Story

On April 24th, 2002 our house was robbed during the afternoon hours. We filed a police report and my sister contacted Allstate to submit the claim. My sister is on my house and also has my power of attorney to handle my affairs. I'm on disability for and attack and rape 8 years ago left with hepatitis c and severe head injury. The claim is for 18,000 dollars, which the 1st adjuster didn't contact my sister for almost 3 weeks, Then the case was turn over to the special investigate unit where they had my sister sign and sworn proof of loss. Then this jerk who will not answer is phone ever. Decided since I was the lossee they would have to have me sign a sworn proof of loss, Then he decided he needed a interview with me and he cancelled 1/2 2 times because it was raining and it took threatening to talk to his supervisor to come out. During the interview he talked only to me even though he was again told my sister is my power of attorney. During the interview he insinuated that maybe my 18 old son did it even though we have proof that we were all not home.

Anyways that was last Mon. He told us if he needed anything else he would contact us by Wed. He didn't call so Thurs. we called to settled our claim. He didn't talk to us but called our voice mail, and said he sent a letter and their attorney wants to ask questions under oath. We are now lodging complaints against them to the commissioner of insurance in Minnesota and calling his supervisor and vice pres. and making this public knowledge that Allstate wants to rip their clients off. I have insurance for personnel coverage of 85.000 dollar, if we were going to scam them we wouldn't do it for the 18.000 of money. We will not back down from them, we don't know for sure what our next step is, but it is not to let them intimidate us.

MY POINT IS THEY ARE CORRUPT AND DOING PEOPLE WRONG.

If anyone has insurance with these people please cancel and help spread the word about their wrong doings. The only way to fight large companies is with the lose of accounts and money.

"There is no incentive for insurance companies to do what is right, such as live up to the promises made in their policies. Tort reformers fueled by insurance money think big business and the insurance industry need to be protected against "runaway juries." It's the other way around. Big business and the insurance industry have always been able to take care of themselves. The little people need protection from them. This country was founded on the common law right of the little guy to get into court with his hired gun to fight the oppressor, be it big government or big business. Take that away and we have nothing left. Look around. It's being whittled away, bit by bit, caps on damages here, restrictions on jury trials there. It won't end until we recognize the enemy and join together to take a stand against them. It will take the little people to do this together".
